Terms & Conditions – Sintra Experiences

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all bookings made with Sintra Experiences (“we”, “our”, “us”). By booking a tour through our website www.sintraexperiences.com, you (“you”, “the customer”, “the participant”) agree to these Terms.
1. Bookings & Payments
1.1. All bookings must be made through our website or through an authorized representative.
1.2. Payment for the tour may be made before or after the tour, either in cash or by card in person. In some cases, a secure payment link may be sent beforehand, and Sintra Experiences reserves the right to request a deposit when necessary.
1.3. Please note that card payments are subject to a small processing fee, which varies depending on the type of card used. The fee will be clearly communicated at the time of payment.
1.4. Prices are listed in Euros (€) and include all applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
1.5. A booking is confirmed once we have received your reservation and you have received a confirmation message from us.
1.6. Because payments are collected in person, customers are required to confirm their attendance prior to the tour. Sintra Experiences reserves the right to cancel any booking that is not confirmed within the timeframe provided in the confirmation message. Customers who fail to attend a scheduled tour without notice may be refused future bookings or may be required to provide a deposit for any future reservation.
1.7. We reserve the right to adjust prices at any time, however confirmed bookings will not be affected.
1.8. All tour durations and schedules provided are approximate and may vary due to traffic, weather conditions, tourist congestion in Sintra, or other unforeseen circumstances. Sintra Experiences is not responsible for delays outside of our control.
2. Cancellation & Refund Policy
2.1. Cancellations by the Customer
- More than 48 hours before the tour: Full refund.
- Less than 48 hours before the tour: Non-refundable.
- No-shows: Non-refundable.
2.2. Cancellations by Sintra Experiences
We reserve the right to cancel a tour due to:
- Severe weather conditions
- Mechanical issues with the tuk tuk
- Safety concerns
- Staff illness or emergencies
If we cancel, you may choose between:
- A full refund
- Rescheduling (subject to availability)
We are not responsible for additional costs such as transportation, accommodation, or third-party bookings.
3. Changes to Bookings
3.1. Customers may request changes (date/time) up to 48 hours before the tour, subject to availability.
3.2. Changes within 48 hours cannot be guaranteed and may be treated as a cancellation.
4. Weather Policy
Tours operate in most weather conditions. However:
- In case of severe weather (storms, heavy rain, unsafe conditions), we may reschedule or cancel.
- A customer choosing to cancel due to weather when the tour is still operating will not be refunded.
5. Safety & Participation
5.1. All participants must follow safety instructions from the tour guide/driver.
5.2. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who appears intoxicated, behaves dangerously, or compromises safety.
5.3. Children under 7 are not permitted due to Portuguese traffic law.
5.4. Participants must be able to enter and exit the tuk tuk safely. You are responsible for assessing your own physical ability.
6. Liability
6.1. Sintra Experiences is not liable for:
- Personal injury resulting from failure to follow safety instructions
- Loss or damage of personal belongings
- Delays caused by traffic or unexpected events
6.2. Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the tour.
7. Customer Responsibilities
By booking, you agree to:
- Provide accurate personal information
- Arrive on time at the agreed meeting point
- Inform us of any relevant medical conditions or mobility issues
- Treat the driver, guide, and vehicle with respect
8. Photography & Media
8.1. During the tour, we may take photos or videos for promotional purposes.
8.2. If you do not wish to appear in our content, please inform us before the tour begins.
9. Personal Data
We collect only the personal information required to process bookings.

10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by Portuguese law.
Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Lisbon, Portugal.
